The OPP are telling us about a cottage rental scam that they want renters to be aware of.
A family saw an ad on Kijiji for a cottage in Wasaga Beach for $600. They sent the money and when they got to Wasaga Beach they couldn’t find the place and asked an OPP officer where it was. It turned out the address and the cottage did not exist.
OPP are asking renters to make sure they check out the location and the owner of any property, before sending off any money for a rental.
