A 24 year old man and a 31 year old man from Midland are facing charges after police say they fled a RIDE checkpoint in Barrie.
Early Sunday morning OPP officers conducting a RIDE check near Essa Road in Barrie directed a vehicle to pull over.
The vehicle accelerated and fled the check point.
A pursuit was initiated but called off when a York Regional Police helicopter managed to spot the vehicle and continue to observe it.
The vehicle was followed into a subdivision where York Regional Police officers and the canine unit cornered the suspects and arrested them after they had attempted to flee their vehicle on foot.
The pair will appear in court in September.
