The Orillia Economic Development Manager is crediting a recent decision by city council for a positive development in the local industrial sector.
CCI Thermal Technologies has announced it will be doubling the size of it’s Hunter Valley Road plant with construction expected to begin immediately.
City Economic Development Manager Dan Landry says this comes on the heels of a decision by city council to impose a two-year moratorium on industrial development charges.
Landry says CCI Thermal had previously cited the development charges as prohibitive of it’s plans for expansion.
Landry adds the Orillia plant is a big part of the local economy.
CCI Thermal currently employs around 135 workers – and it’s believed the expansion will lead to a number of new jobs over the next three years.
