A bit of a demolition derby in Orillia Wednesday morning at the intersection of Westmount Drive and Coldwater Road.
Orillia OPP responded to two separate collisions involving a total of 7 vehicles in two separate incidents.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. officers attended the scene of a collision involving 4 vehicles.
All 4 motorists were westbound on Coldwater Road at the time.
It appears one vehicle was stopped; others were changing lanes when the chain reaction collision took place. One person was treated at the scene by paramedics. No injuries.
Police were still on scene investigating this incident when another collision occurred.
Traffic was backed up and moving slowly.
This time it was vehicles on the eastbound lanes of Coldwater Road.
One driver rear ended another vehicle which was stopped.
That vehicle was pushed into the vehicle ahead of it.
A total of 3 vehicles were involved in this collision.
The investigation was completed and one driver was charged.
A 45 year old male driver from Owen Sound was charged with Careless Driving. The two people involved in this collision were transported by ambulance to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
