The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is getting the word out about the power of walking.
Public Health Nurse Lori Hunter says walking should never be underestimated in it’s importance to good health.
Hunter says regular walking can cut your risk for developing health issues such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke, as well as reduce stress – which in itself can cause numerous health issues.
Hunter says keeping a brisk pace is key to maximizing the benefits of walking.
To assist in reaching your goals, should you decide to take up walking – the Health Unit is challenging everyone to take the I Can Walk pledge.
