Another township, Oro Medonte, has initiatied a fire ban because of the extreme dry conditions.
Due to the recent string of warm weather and the extended forecast of dry and humid weather for the upcoming days, the Fire Danger Rating has reached the high to extreme levels.
As a result, a total fire ban has been implemented within the entire Township.
Starting today at 9 am, all outdoor burning is banned and all fire permits issues are now void until the fire ban is lifted.
Residents will be notified by public service announcements when the ban has been lifted.
Yesterday Severn Township banned all outdoor burning including campfires and fireworks because of the dry conditions.
