The walls of the old Sundial Restaurant and Inn could be coming down by the end of this week.
Orillia’s Chief Building Official Kelly Smith says she expects to issue a demolition permit for the tear down in the next day or so.
She says the owner of the property has now hired a contractor and once demolition begins it should be completed in about two months time.
Smith says the porition of the building partially desroyed by fire will be the first to come down and they the contracor will begin work on the restaurant porition of the building.
She says before the rest of the building can be torn down, the contractor has to deal with some asbestos issues.
It was back in May Council decided that the gutted structure had to go because of the threat it posed to the public and if the owner didnt demolish the building, then the city would do the job.
The abandoned hotel, which was seriously damaged by fire April 30.
