A unique boardroom table made entirely from historical artifacts donated by YMCAs across Canada including The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka now has a permanent home at YMCA Canada’s head office in Toronto.
All 53 YMCA Associations worked together on this project, collecting mementos and artifacts that told meaningful stories about their organization. .
The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka contributed four artifacts to the table: a souvenir letter opener from 1967 when the Centennial Centre at YMCA Geneva Park was opened, a wall plaque inviting guests to offer suggestions for improvements to the park, a swatch of material from the YMCA of Sierra Leone , and a badge worn by YMCA personnel who served with Canadian troops during the Second World War.
