Orillia Mayor Angelo Orsi has announced just where the new Orillia OPP detachment will be located.
The Mayor has announced the city has completed a conditional deal with FLSmidth Ltd. for all lands and buildings at 174 West St. South.
The property is bordered by Queen St. to the North, Cochrane to the South and West St. S. to the West.
A press release from the Mayors office says these lands will be used for the construction of the new OPP Detachment.
The release says the immediate need for expanded facilities to accommodate the OPP Detachment as well as other opportunities to be discussed with the public in the coming weeks and months.
The Mayors statement goes on to say Council’s recent emphasis and support for initiatives to revitalize the downtown will be helpedby way this unique opportunity to locate amenities and facilities in close proximity to the core.
