The Huronia Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic will begin seeing patients in Oro-Medonte as early as October.
The Township has identified the OPP satellite building on the 4th Line south of Horseshoe Valley Road as the site for the new clinic.
Oro-Medonte Mayor Harry Hughes says the clinic has been coming for quite some time.
He adds the Township was not always completely optimistic about getting the clinic as the City of Barrie had recently landed a similar clinic.
Hughes says the clinic will be fully funded by the Province.
Those who live within a reasonable driving distance to the clinic who want to be added to the list for consideration to receive health care at the new facility can contact Health Care Connect by calling 1-800-445-1822.
