Ontario’s Lake Country took a look back at the year that was and made plans for the future.
The tourism group held their Annual General Meeting in Rama yesterday (Thurs).
Members focused on some of 2010’s highlights which included the production and installation of tourism directional signs, re-launching their website, passing out some
50 thousand visitor guides throughout Ontario and the USA, and continued to support local festivities.
Outgoing Chair Frank Coyle admits Lake Country was in a bit of a deficit for the last four years and says they had a lot of catching up to do, but feels they’ve done a pretty good job.
New partnerships were a highlight of 2010 for Coyle, including joining forces with the Orillia Opera House, The Bass Pro Shop, and the development of Flavors of Lake Country.
As he finishes his term as Chair, Frank Coyle says everyone needs to work together and respect each other to succeed.
Among the agenda items were to elect 3 new members. Mark Laughlin from Horeshoe Resort, Christi Spriggs of Bayview Wildwood Resort and Roger Selman of Centry 21 Lakeside Cove Realty join the board.
