This is the first really hot day of the summer and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has some advice on how to deal with the high temperatures and how to avoid getting heat stroke.
Brenda Armstrong is the health hazard program supervisor and says the most important thing for people to do today is to keep hydrated and drink lots of water.
She also says people should try to keep out of the sun as much as possible and make sure that you use sunscreen if you are going to be outdoors for any length of time.
Armstrong says you should be wearing light and loose fitting clothing to help keep you cool.
