Student doctors are getting a look at our communities and our hospitals this week.
Four doctors-in-training are in Collingwood this week, five in Orillia and five in Owen Sound as part of Rural Medicine Week.
It’s an optional part of the doctors’ education; a one-week stay in a rural or underserviced community.
The doctors-to-be are in their first of second year of training.
During the week, they’ll spend half of their time in a hospital or clinic, and the other half exploring the area with activities planned by the local hospitals and recruitment groups.
