The 50th anniversary celebration at Park Street Collegiate in Orillia continues.
Principal Jim Sammon says hundreds of people are expected to attend throughout the weekend.
He says there is a lot of history being discussed among former staff and students – both local and otherwise.
Sammon says both students and teachers from Park Street’s first year in operation have attended the celebration.
One such person is Gary Fell – he was not only one of the original students, but also went on to teach at the school for 30 years.
Fell’s children also attended Park Street Collegiate.
He says the school has changed a little over the last 50 years – but he expects the school to be around for a long time to come.
Closing ceremonies go today (SUN) at the school.
