A collision between a car and a tractor trailer west of Stayner has left one person dead and another in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash occured on County 91 and Fairgrounds Road yesterday. A woman was pronounced dead at Collingwood’s hospital shortly after the crash and a man was air lifted to a hospital in Toronto.
There are reports the car had Quebec licence plates and was a rental. The car was completely destroyed in the accident.
Also yesterday afternoon, a man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. According to police it appears that the man lost control after his motocycle struck the guardrail on the overpass at the Highway 400/11 split.
