The Big Bike is coming back. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontarios annual Big Bike event will take place Wednesda and Thursday at Couchiching Beach Park in Orillia.
Christine Drury is the Corporate co ordinator of the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Simcoe Muskoka and says the
Big Bike is one of Heart and Strokes biggest fundraising events. The event is named after the big 30-seat bike.
Drury says the teams made up of 29 enthusiastic riders and one driver provided by the Heart and Stroke Foundation will pedal raising funds, attention and laughs along the way.
She says this year 23 teams have registered to ride the big bike.
The Big Bike travels to more than 200 communities across Canada, raising $7.7 million.
Most of the money raised in Orillia stays in the area to fund various Heart and Stroke activities.
Drury says one of the projects they will be working on is promoting the good food box program and giving that more publicity.
