Parliament will return June 2 _ one month to the day after the Conservatives won their long-sought majority.
Government House leader John Baird says the House of Commons will first choose a Speaker, then return the next day for the throne speech.
Already one local MP is toying with the idea of putting his name forward for the position of Speaker.
Simcoe North MP Bruce Stanton says is considering that move to help improving the atmosphere and decorum of Parliament
He says if elected speaker he would be able to be able to bring more civility back to the House of Commons, which is a concern that was raised time and time again by people in the riding during the election campaign.
Stanton says a number of other MP also could be putting their name foreword for the speakers positron.
He says there are three other so called deputy speaker positions as well as it takes a number of people to keep the house in order during daily and evening sittings.
Stanton says being elected speaker could take a bit away from his time in the riding, as the Speaker must remain in Ottawa a little later on a Friday.
