Curves Orillia has taken on an extra 1012 pounds…in food donations for the Sharing Place that is.
Curves celebrated the end of a very successful spring food drive by loading the shelves at the Orillia Sharing Place with 1012 pounds of nutritious food.
This is the 13th food drive that Curves has taken part in, and Manager Evalyn Bazos says the gym is very proud to have passed this years goal of 1000 pounds.
Current members were urged to bring in food items and new members could join for free by simply bringing in a bag of groceries.
Executive Director of the Sharing Place Food Bank Don Evans says Curves certainly came to the plate and hit a home run!
Evans admits spring is often a time people overlook when giving to the food bank, so a donation of this size is certainly appreciated.
Bazos and Evans send out big thanks to all of their staff and members for supporting the Sharing Place.
