Tax hikes are on the way for residents in Severn Township.
Council passed their budget which will see a 2.5% increase, which means an increase of about $17.18 on a home assessed at just under $240 000.
The Orillia Packet and Times reports that the tax hike is required for a number of roads projects, bridge repair and trail upgrades, amongst other things required in the township.
One of the biggest projects is slated to be the rehabilitation of the trail that connects Coldwater to Waubaushene, an improvement with a price tag of around $100,000.
Crews will begin clearing the trail of brush this year.
