Locally and nationally this past week we saw a snapshot of whether the overall quality of life of Canadians is getting better or worse — and things could be better.
The new environment report was released last week by the Canadian Index of Wellbeing and says that as a country we’re not in a crisis situation today, but warns that there are clear warning signs of potential threats to our environment and wellbeing that should not be ignored.
The CIW is the only national index that measures wellbeing based on more then just economics, it also looks at education, leisure and culture, living standards and the environment.
Thanks to a close partnership with the CIW, Simcoe County followed suit and released their own wellness report from the Resilience Collaborative.
The Simcoe County report looked at the same areas as the national report did and found similar findings.
The Resilience Collaborative main objective is to engage the community, stimulate discussion, and develop strategic responses and works closely within the framework of the CIW.
