The local election campaign is slowly picking up the pace.
Incumbent Conservative MP Bruce Stanton was the first out of the gate as far as the battle of the election signs is concerned with number Tory blue re-elect Stanton signs popping up on lawns and boulevards across the city.
Liberal Candidate Steve Clarke set up his first sign Sunday afternoon in front of a home on Laclie Street.
He says job creation is the number one issue he will deal with in this campaign.
Clarke also says voters in Simcoe North have a choice of either expensive unnecessary US style super jails being proposed by the Conservatives or pension and pension security for all Canadians as being proposed by the Liberals.
As far as the nasty tone developing at the national level with the leaders attacking each other, Clarke says he is not a fan of attack style politics and expects the local campaign will be vastly different from the national one.
The NDP candidate, Richard Bannigan held an election strategy session Sunday afternoon and the local Green Candidate Valerie Powell expects to enter the race in the next few days.
