Names are now being accepted for two Ontario Minister’s Awards.
Garfield Dunlop, our MPP for Simcoe North encourages you to nominate who you think should be recognized in this years Minster of Environment Award for Environmental Excellence and the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigrations Newcomer Champion Awards.
The Ministers Award for Environmental Excellence recognizes outstanding achievement by Ontario companies, organizations and individuals.
Applicants for this award must demonstrate how their activities benefit the environment or foster environmental behaviour change, with a focus this year on water and toxic reduction.
The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigrations Newcomer Champion Awards recognize individuals and groups who have made a difference in their community and province through active citizenship and engagement.
The recipients of this award are champions of voluntarism, proud supporters of newcomers, and advocates of greater social and civic inclusion.
MPP Dunlop says to nominate an individual or group all you have to do is contact his office in either Orillia or Midland for the list of criteria and necessary forms.
The deadline for nominations for the Citizenship and Immigrations award is April 29, while the deadline for the Environment Award is May 6.
