Federally it is looking more and more like an election will be called within the next week, but locally our political leaders are hearing we don’t want to head to the polls.
Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop says he personally feels that Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty did a good job with the budget and reaching out to the three other parties for support.
Dunlop admits he feels that with an October 6th Provincial election already scheduled, a spring Federal election will be too much for the voters and parties could end up paying dearly at the polls.
He feels that the parties that force the election will be the one’s who pay.
Looking ahead Dunlop admits he thinks it will be a nasty election at the leaders level, but says that locally the candidates are all high level, first class people, that wont get caught up in all the dirt.
