Orillia Mayor Angelo Orsi calls it a bit of sticker shock to be hit with a 36 per cent increase in charges from the OSPCA to provide animal control services for Orillia for the next three years.
He says considering that cost increase, its time to think about working with neighbourning municipalities to devise their owen regional animal control system.
Council committee wants to move to a month to month arrangement and look at other options with neighbouring municipalities for animal control services.
The existing contract expires at the end of the month.
Next week Council will be asked to approve the month to month arrangement at a cost of just over 11 thousand 600 dollars.
