Orillia council will soon be getting a look at a consultants report on how to revamp the whole budget process.
In early February Council gave consultant Grant Thornton the job of taking a close look at the whole budget process, and its expected that first phase of his report should be completed very soon.
Councillor Linda Murray says while delaying the budget was a bit controversial it was necessary to ensure all councillors are up to speed on the citys operations.
Murray says the consultant is now at the point they want to meet with each councillor.
Murray says because of this process, Council now has the back ground necessary to make informed decisions about the citys finances.
