Grant applications are now being accepted at the offices of the Orillia Community Foundations.
The Foundation is accepting grants now until April 1st in two main categories – the Community Unrestricted Fund and the Ontario Endowment for Youth and Children in Recreation.
Executive Director of the Foundation, Marilyn de Lang says funds will be given to programs and organizations that are registered charities or qualified donees as defined by the CRA.
Groups in Orillia Ramara Township, Chippewas of Rama First Nation, Severn Township and a portion of Oro-Medonte can apply.
de Lang says the process is a fairly simple one, but if anyone needs help or advice they can contact her before march 21st to discuss the application process.
There are also two scholarships available for grade 12 students planning on continuing their education, the Tom Parish Scholarship Fund and the Orillia Y’s Men Scholastic Award.
Decisions from the board of directors will be made within a month.
The Foundation has about $20,000 to doll out this spring amongst the applicants.
