Lots of ideas on how to improve the Mariposa Folk Festival in the future.
A special fourm was held Saturday at Lakehead university looking ahead and what can be done to improve an already popular event.
Folk Festival Foundation President Chris Lusty says while the weather kept the number of people taking part in the fourm down, they came up with many good suggestions on the future of the event.
He says those suggestions ranged from parking issues to community involvement to making the folk festival even more environmentally friendly.
Lusty says the whole concept of community partnership came to the forefront during the fourm and what has to be done to encourage even more Orillia Residents to attend the festival.
He says there was no suggestion that the festival consider another location and everyone attending the fourm felt that Tudhope Park is the ideal location for the event.
Lusty says they now will post all of the suggestions on their website, and over the next little while the board of directors will examine them and see which ones they can act on.
He says some of the participants put their names to their suggestions and offered to help get them off the ground.
