An early morning collision has send two people to hospital.
Two sedans collided head-on early Saturday morning in Severn Township in the south lanes of Highway 11 between Canal Rd and County Rd 169.
Both drivers, one male and one female, had to be extricated from their vehicles and have been taken to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
Severn Fire Chief Eric Dowell says the male driver was travelling the wrong way.
Before the crash Orillia OPP said it received a report of a wrong-way driver and responded immediately in an effort to stop the vehicle.
It’s not yet clear whether both drivers sustained serious injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and charges are pending.
