Frosty flippers and chilly dippers are gathering money, strength and warmth ahead of Saturdays annual Polar Bear Dip.
The dip is a fundraiser held during the Orillia Winter Carnival.
Organizers say they have close to 90 jumpers signed up so far, and expect more to join in the day of.
The dip isn’t just to help those brave enough cross something off of their bucket lists, it’s also held to raise money for community groups.
This year the Orillia Common Roof Organization and the Couchiching Jubilee House will accept the funds.
Laurie Hurd Project Coordinator for the Orillia Common Roof says they were ecstatic when they found out they would be one of the recipients and plans to use the money towards a new resource centre within their new building.
Executive Director from the Jubilee House Sharlene Taylor is personally jumping for her cause, they are currently working towards on a campaign for a brand new residents for women.
