Two Orillia residents have been appointed to Regional Tourism Organization 7 as members of the Board of Directors.
Fern Resort’s Laura Nelson and Orillia Businessman Ralph Cipolla join 13 other business people and tourism operators from across Simcoe, Grey and Bruce Counties.
The Regional Tourism Organziation is a partnership that promotes and encourages growth in the tourism sector in all three Counties.
Ralph Cipolla says the key to the success of this venture is everyone working together to promote the area as opposed to working for one specific municpality or county.
He says the regional part of it works very well as every one of the 15 board of directors all have different strengths within the business and tourism sectors.
Cipolla says by working together as a unit they can enhance the local tourism product and begin to draw evey more visitors from south of the border to the three county area.
He also says they should be focusing on the 6 million people who live within a two our drive of this region in the GTA.
