High Speed Internet should become much more accessible for people in Oro-Medonte and the rest of Simcoe County.
This after a move by the Provincial government to provide almost 700-thousand dollars in funding for broadband infrastructure in seven Simcoe County Townships.
The injection of funding will provide High-speed infrastructure to almost 6,000 residents, 27 businesses and 10 public institutions within simcoe county.
Oro-Medonte Mayor Harry Hughes was excited by the announcement.
He says its an important step in bringing better high speed internet accessibility to local residents.
Hughes said that high speed internet was key issue during his election to mayor.
He says it makes life much more convient for his constituents.
