The Orillia Opera House will undergo a complete structural analysis and assessment following a motion introduced by City Councillor Patrick Kehoe.
It was found recently the Opera House actually moved 14 millimetres and while the cause could be frost, council found that they should further investigate.
With construction of the library Council wants to be sure that vibrations associated with that construction are not the cause of the movement of the Opera House.
A structural analysis of the Opera House has not been completed in over thirty years.
Kehoe says the it is important to err on the side of caution in this case.
He says that this assessment is long overdue.
