The Barrie Baycats rode the arm of their ace in their win over the Cardinals.
Emilis Guerrero went the distance on a 3-hitter (all singles) as the Baycats shutout Hamilton 6-0 on Saturday night.
The Baycats' starter faced two over the minimum (29 batters) and struck out 6.
The offence was led by Jordan Castaldo who had 4 hits including a home run, drove in 2, and scored three times.
Castaldo's home run came while leading off the fourth inning, that made it 3-0 for the Baycats (18-8).
Barrie struck for two runs in the first inning off Cardinals' (9-16) starter Arman Lahkani (5 2/3IP, 4R, 11H, 3BB, 2K).
They scored twice off Grant Arnold (1IP, 2R, 3H; 1-for-3) in the 8th for a 6-0 lead.
Ryan Spataro had 2 hits, walked twice, and scored a run for the Baycats.
The next game for the Baycats is Sunday afternoon when they host the London Majors at Coates Stadium.
First pitch is 2 PM.
