The Orillia Zellers store on target to be transformed into a Target store by next year.
The large US based retail giant has announced the location of 23 other target stores in Canada, and Orillia is the only location north of Toronto where the Zellers store will be converted to a target.
Company spokesperson Amy Reilly says Approximately $10 million to $11 million will be invested to remodel the Orillia store.
She says the renovations should take about 6 months to complete.
The Orillia Target Store will employ between 150 and 200 people and Reilly says they already are in the process of hiring workers for the new facility.
She says Target will engage with Zellers associates to make it easy for them to apply for jobs.
