A year of high expectations and harsh realities for Simcoe North Conservative MPP Garfield Dunlop.
Looking back he says the Conservative party was full of confidence heading into the fall Provincial election and believed they had a good chance of forming the next Provincial Government.
Dunlop says the reality was that a poorly run campaign at the Provincial level filled with many mistakes resulted in the voters turning away from the Tories and re-elected the Liberals.
Looking ahead, Dunlop predicts the minority Liberals and the NDP will work closely togetherĀ to pass the budget and other legislation.
At the local level, the Simcoe North MPP says thanks to the opposition from just about every municipality in Simcoe County, the Province has changed its mind about what should be contained in the Simcoe County Growth plan.
He believes the localĀ municipalities now will have more say in where growth should take place rather than the province.
Dunlop expects an announcement on those changes by mid January.
