Two Suspects Wanted In Attempted Tractor Trailer Thefts

Barrie | by Matt Sitler
Police have released descriptions of the suspects...

Barrie Police are searching for two men who tried to steal tractor-trailer trucks from two different locations in the same night.

On Thursday, October 11 at 4 am, the two suspects tried to steal a vehicle from a business on Commerce Park Drive, however, they were unsuccessful, and left the area at 4:30 a.m.

Then at 5 a.m., two suspects, who are believed to be the same men, were captured on surveillance video at a King Street business, again attempting to steal a tractor-trailer truck.

This time the suspects were moderately more successful and were able to remove the trailer and drive the vehicle away. However, using the vehicle’s GPS system, the truck was located abandoned a short distance away, still on King Street. The vehicle’s dashboard had been damaged, in what was believed to be an unsuccessful attempt to remove the GPS tracker.
