For a change, the Barrie Baycats didn't need to make a huge comeback.
They scored five runs off Panthers starter Noelvis Entenza (4 IP, 8 R, 11 H, 3 BB, 3 K) and went on to beat Kitchener 11-4 Thursday night in their regular season home finale.
The win was their 11th straight and gives them a 2-game lead on the Panthers for first place in the Intercounty League standings.
Ryan Spataro (2-for-4, HR, R, RBI) led off the game with his fourth home run of the season.
Then with one out in the first inning, six straight Baycats batters reached base that resulted in four more runs.
Every Baycat starter had at least one hit, and either scored a run or drove in one.
Kyle DeGrace (3-for-4, R, 2 RBI), Kevin Atkinson (2-for-5, 2B, 3 R, RBI), Jordan Castaldo (2-for-2, 2B, 2 BB, 2 R), and Jeff Cowan (2-for-3, R, 2 RBI) each had multi-hit games.
Frank Garces went 7 innings, giving up a run on 2 hits while striking out 5 for the win.
Zach Johnson went 2-for-4 including a 2-run home run in the ninth off reliever Brandon Catena.
The Baycats finish the regular season on the road in Guelph Saturday and in London on Sunday.
