Quarry Company Fined For Death Of Worker At Severn Job Site

Worker was pulled into a conveyor while clearing ice.

A Niagara Falls quarry company has been fined $170,000 following the death of a worker at a job site on Nichols Line in Severn Township.

Court was told while removing ice buildup on a pulley on a conveyor in Feburary of last year,  the worker was pulled in and suffered fatal head injuries.

The Ministry of Labour determined the conveyor was not locked while the ice was being removed.
